Our Training Programmes
Around one in four students report having a diagnosed mental health issue while at university. We also know that one-quarter of students don’t know where to get mental health support at university.
We believe that informal peer support can be a complementary part of a stepped-care and early intervention approach to helping students. Our training courses are designed to equip students and staff with the skills and knowledge to provide support within the student community, as well as looking after their own wellbeing.

Corporate Partnership

University Mental Health Charter
We want all universities to adopt a whole–university approach to mental health, and become places that promote the mental health and wellbeing of all members of the university community. We work towards this vision in 3 key ways:
- The University Mental Health Charter Framework is available to all and outlines Principles of Good Practice.
- The University Mental Health Charter Programme supports members to create cultural changes.
- The University Mental Health Charter Award assesses individual universities’ approaches to understand their strengths and further development opportunities.
